Quilting in a Pandemic

Piecemakers-by-the-Bay and Friends of the History Center present “Quilting during a Pandemic.”

Opening remarks will be made by Susie Black. The main galleries at the History Center will be filled with needlework from club members.

Programs will be offered on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm every other week:

Jan. 31- International Textiles by Mimi Braniff

Feb. 14- Threading Memories by Juleanna Fuller

Feb. 28- Quilt Turning by Dora McKelvey

Mar. 14- Cathedral Windows by Sharon Wasteney

In-person attendance will be limited- reservations only- due to health safety precautions. Talks will be available on Zoom live and the History Center website. www.hcfriends.net A lovely quilt created by Piecemakers will be raffled. Tickets ($1 each or 6 for $5) will be available at the History Center and the website in the current exhibit and shop section. The winner will be announced on March 28th at 4:00 pm.

Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the History Center. The History Center for Aransas County at 801 E. Cedar St. is open Fri. 10-2; Sat. & Sun. 1-4 pm and Mon 10-2.

The History Center for Aransas County showcases local heritage.  Outdoor and indoor exhibits tell the stories of the real people of Aransas County. The Center provides space for displays, workshops, meetings and gatherings.
